24"H Windsor Back Swivel Barstool Review

(More customer reviews)Once assembled, these are very attractive, sturdy barstools and the swivel mechanism is solid and smooth. The stools arrived with the seat/seat-back intact. The base consisted of two assembled sides (pairs of legs) with 4 spindles to go between the pairs, and the top board/swivel base that the 4 legs insert into from the bottom and the swivel mechanism attaches to the top.
The assembly instructions that come with the stools would have you assemble the four legs then attach them to the top board. DO NOT try to do it in this order. The four legs all angle inward. The holes they fit into on the swivel base are all a tight fit and angle inward as well. If you assemble the legs first they will not fit into the holes on the swivel base. Start by figuring out how the two pre-assembled pairs of legs best insert the swivel base (these are still a tight fit as they angle inward as well, but with all three stools, I got this to work), partially insert them so that they can still move a bit, then fit the cross spindles between the two pairs (all upside down to this point). Once the legs are all connected, flip the base upright, place a folded up towel over the top board/swivel base, and hammer the base tightly onto the legs. From there you can proceed to attach the swivel mechanism to the swivel base (take care to make sure the the 'front' indicator is on the up-side) and then attach the seat to the swivel mechanism (upside down again for this part and rotating the base to tighten each screw into the seat through a hole in the swivel base). Please note that though there were pre-drilled starter holes for the swivel plate screws in both the base & seat, they were not large or deep enough. Either drill them out a smidge or be prepared to use a LOT of elbow grease to tighten these screws.
So the assembly was NOT fun -- but the end result are some very nice barstools at a very reasonable price!

Florence Pub Table - Cappuccino Review

(More customer reviews)This Table is intended for the very tall stools, not the counter height, but bar height.
The finish is very dark, and matches my pier one espresso chairs nicely.
Beware, the tabletop scratches very easily.
On a side note, This is not a piece of furniture which is capable of providing a platform for intercourse for two normal sized people. I suppose if chewbacca and Andre the giant were to get it on, they could use this implement, otherwise, stick to using it as a pub table.

5pc Cappuccino Finish Counter Height Dining Table And 4 Barstools Set Review

(More customer reviews)I rarely order "bolt together" furniture, but the cost of a similar looking set at my usual furniture store (offering 'underprices') was nearly double, so I took a chance and ordered this 5-pce contemporary dining set to replace a traditional-style oak set. A day or 2 after order placement, I received a call to confirm my order and provide delivery details. The set arrived on time (within 7-10 days of order). After carefully removing each piece from the double box and impact foam it was packed in, I noticed a couple of minor blemishes caused by movement during shipping. Fortunately, the blemishes are in places that aren't noticeable after assembly. The set is made entirely of furniture-grade hardwood (no cheap particle board) and the parts bolt or screw together. Assembly took me 2 hours at a relaxed pace. All hardware (nuts, bolts & washers) and an Allen wrench is included. Additionally, for assembly, you'll need a Phillips head screwdriver and (optional) wood glue for the dowels. I've been using the set for several days and am pleased with it. Only negative comment I have it with respect to the screws used to fasten the seating pads, which I found to be too long. The instructions call for use of 1-1/2" screws (incl.), but, when screwed down, these can be felt when sitting...OUCH! Fortunately, I pushed down on the seating pad with my hand and felt the sharp screw before I made the mistake of sitting on it. I ended up using the shorter screws (incl.) for affixing the seating pads and the 1-1/2" screws to fasten the stretchers to the front and rear legs of the stools, which is the reverse of what the instructions tell you to do. An easy fix. Compared to other similar looking, comparably priced, but sometimes lesser quality sets I saw, this 5 pce set represents a very good investment, which I'm confident will provide years of reliable service and will hold up to daily use by my family of 4.
