(More customer reviews)I saw this stool/table in the window of an upmarket furniture store in New York last November (2010) and on the offchance looked for it on Amazon -- and found it for cheaper. For the price, this is an excellent piece of Italian design: it looks good (it has the appeal of a gaint chess piece -- both child-like and sophisticated), is light enough to move around but sturdy enough to sit on, and makes the perfect end table for guests to stick their drinks on. A wonderful piece of design, proving that you don't have to spend $$$ to be stylish. I bought two, and am thinking of buying more.

(More customer reviews)This item, once put together, is sturdy and just the right size for my kitchen. I needed something small where we could sit and eat or use as extra counter space that did not take up a lot of room. It is big enough for two people to sit either next to each other or opposite each other (using different sides). The chairs tuck away nicely as long as you turn them the right way before putting them away.
It was a little challenging to put this together. The instructions are very basic with little detail and the pictures make it a little difficult to identify the items (like which screws to use). The l-wrench it came with worked okay when I put the table together but it didn't work well with the stools. I ended up using a special bit with a small power drill to finish putting them together (and it was still a little tough). That aside, I think it's a great set for the price we paid!

(More customer reviews)Out of box, the item was in poor shape; the base and pole had scuffs and were crudely repainted in several spots. Once assembled and placed on a flat surface, the chair would tip as soon as it was sat on. Very dangerous! When contacted about the claimed 3 year warranty, the owner told us to mail the chair back even though it was defective on numerous counts. Unfortunately, the $80 chair cost $72 to mail back via UPS. South Mission basically told us we were out of luck. Shady company to say the least.

Set Of 2 Retro Chrome Finish Bar Stools Review

(More customer reviews)I bought three of these a few years back for my kitchen counter area. They swivel 360 degrees. They are 29" tall. The seat cushions are relatively comfortable. My only complaints about these stools are that sometimes the screws and bolts that hold the stool together will come loose after a lot of use. Then it's just a matter of putting them back in and/or just tightening them up. My other complaint is that the chair leg bottom pads aren't very durable. They wear down pretty fast and come loose sometimes, forcing me to buy new pads.
Overall, they're pretty good bar stools.
